Go Kart: Design & Build
I designed and built a gas powered reverse trike go-kart. To complete this project, I had to learn how to design a go-kart, find supplies, request funding, and then build it by welding, engineering, problem-solving, and finishing the metal, and finally, driving! In the end, the go-kart was able to hit a top speed of about 40mph.

Woodburning
I have been working on woodburning for a year and making this board for our Student of the Block display was a chance to try my skills on a bigger scale than I had done in the past. It is entirely wood burned and it took as many hours as a grade level project. I’m hopefully going to pain a boarder on some 2x4s to add a bit of color but that will be another project.

Building a cabin in the woods.
I spent time throughout my senior year designing and building a small cabin for my Senior Project. I spent over 300 hours on this project.

I love the relationships I get to build with students and families over time - it is so rewarding to see such growth!
Staff
The system of advisories builds a fantastic community and helped me develop as a young person. The guidance of my advisor lead me to robotics which helped me find my degree path and career.
Alumn
Avalon encourages students who are committed to learning to meet and exceed their goals. For example, I graduated with almost 50 credits at the end of my senior year. I frequently exceeded my goals on the time I spent working on my learning through projects.
Alumn
Avalon's flexible schedule allowed me to take PSEO as a sophomore, saving me so much money for my AA degree.
