Anna Noble first heard about Avalon when she was attending Hamline University’s College of Liberal Arts. She first experience Avalon when she was assigned a practicum during her junior year as part of her education coursework. She loved Avalon and its community so much that she stayed during the next year as an aide to teachers and students. After graduating from Hamline and armed with a Language Arts teaching certificate, Anna taught at an alternative school in south Minneapolis while still keeping in touch with friends at Avalon. She heard Avalon’s call again in the spring of 2005 when she found out about the new and exciting opportunity of teaching in Avalon’s 7th and 8th grade program and she couldn’t resist once again being part of this amazing community.
When Anna is not teaching and telling people how great teaching middle-schoolers is, she can usually be found reading, baking, playing outside, making travel plans, working on her house, or spending time with her friends and family. Anna also is a huge fan of the Midway neighborhood and the Twin Cities in general and likes to spend time enjoying the music, food, sports, art, and people that make up these areas, as long as she has good directions! Her favorite places to visit in the area usually involve ice cream in one way or another.
